67 premises closed for failing to adhere to Covid-19 SOP

KUALA LUMPUR: The government yesterday ordered 67 premises to close for failing to adhere to the Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, in a statement today, said the errant premises were identified during the 93,420 inspections conducted by the Compliance Operations Task Force.

He said the task force also fined 222 individuals and remanded another six for flouting the SOP yesterday.

The authorities, he said, only caught one illegal entrant and seized five land vehicles under the ongoing Op Benteng on Thursday.

On quarantine measures, Hishammuddin said 686 returnees from overseas have started their mandatory quarantine period yesterday at 83 hotels and 11 public training institutes nationwide.

The Fire and Rescue Department and local authorities, he said, conducted 215 sanitisation operations at 77 red zones, one orange zone and three yellow zones on Thursday.
