Umno, Bersatu MPs arrive at Istana Negara [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno and Bersatu Members of Parliament arrived in separately at the Istana Negara this morning.

Umno MPs entered the palace via Gate 2 in a bus closely trailed by a convoy of MPV vehicles at 10.35am.

Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin, Keterah MP Tan Sri Annuar Musa and Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim were spotted in the bus together.

Minutes later, a bus, believed to be ferrying Bersatu parliamentarians, was seen entering the palace gate at 10.43am.

Alor Gajah MP Datuk Seri Redzuan Yusof was seen waving at the media while Julau independent MP, Larry Sng was also spotted in the bus.

The MPs were summoned by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to verify majority support for Bera MP Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri to become the next prime minister.

More MPs are expected to arrive at Istana Negara until later today.

On Monday, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin tendered his resignation along with his cabinet to the King and was later appointed as caretaker prime minister.
