Ismail Sabri clocks in as nation's ninth Prime Minister

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob clocked in for his first day at work in Putrajaya at 8.30am today.

The Prime Minister's Department in a statement said the PM was greeted by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, and Senior Deputy Secretary-General of the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Jamil Rakon.

Also present were Public Service Department director-general Tan Sri Mohd Khairul Adib, Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Affendi Buang, Inspector General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, and Attorney-General Tan Sri Idrus Harun.

Ismail Sabri, who was in a black suit, was accompanied by senior government officials to scan his time card, before signing his Welcome Book.

"The Prime Minister's Department welcomes Ismail Sabri as the ninth Prime Minister."

He was sworn in as Prime Minister on Saturday before Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara.
