Company donates face masks to Kelantan media practitioners

KOTA BARU: A local property development company has donated some 400 pieces of face masks to Kelantan media practitioners.

The donation from Kelmedic Sdn Bhd took place at the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) branch office here yesterday.

Presenting the face masks was the company's marketing and admin executive Pui Lee Yin, while the state's TV3 reporter Shahnun Hanif Abdullah Suhaimi received it on behalf of the NSTP.

Pui said the donation was to show the company's appreciation to local media practitioners who were also frontliners.

"Like other frontliners, we are also concerned about the safety of the press members here who are working round the clock to gather news for the public.

"Kelantan of late has recorded four digit Covid-19 cases and with the contribution, hopefully members of the press could protect themselves from the infection," she said.

She said the mask contribution to members of the local media was the first such corporate social responsibility endeavour by the company.

"Before this, we have been helping and providing donation to other frontliners, the needy and the unfortunate people and this time around, we decided to help the Kelantan media practitioners," she added.

Shahnun who is also Kelantan Media Club (KEMUDI) president, thanked the company for the donation, saying that the face masks were very useful for media practitioners, especially those involved in field work.
