SHAH ALAM: A pregnant woman accidentally gave birth to a baby boy in the toilet of a restaurant in Parit 7, Sekinchan this evening.
According to a Bernama report, the newborn died after falling into the toilet bowl.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department head Norazam Khamis in a statement said in the 4.03pm incident, the seven-month pregnant woman went to relieve herself in the toilet when she accidentally delivered the baby.
"Our team took about 10 minutes to break the toilet bowl and extricate the newborn," he said.
He said the baby was declared dead by the attending Health Ministry personnel at the scene.
Noarazam added that the 37-year-old mother was being treated at the Tanjung Karang Hospital and reported to be in stable condition.
