IPOH: Popular film director Mohamad Mohd Khalid, better known as Mamat Khalid, was laid to rest at the Masjid Kampung Paloh Muslim cemetery here at 2.20pm today.
His body was brought to the cemetery at 1.53pm, after funeral prayers were conducted at the Masjid Jamek Idris Iskandar Shah I in Kampong Sungai Rokam after Zohor.
Among the celebrities seen at the cemetery included Zul Ariffin, Raja Azmi Raja Sulaiman, Avaa Vanja, Bront Palarae, Awie and Datuk M. Nasir.
Also present was Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
Mamat died after suffering a heart attack yesterday while playing music on his keyboard in front of his family at the Sarang Art Hub Cafè in Tanjung Malim.
He was pronounced dead at 12.30am on the way to the Slim River Hospital.
Among his popular works included Man Laksa, Rock, Zombi Kampung Pisang and Kala Malam Bulan Mengambang.
