KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 5,577,262 individuals or 17.1 per cent of the total population, have received their booster jab as of yesterday (Dec 27).
Based on the Health Ministry's CovidNow data, to date, 78.4 per cent of the total population (25,589,542) are fully vaccinated comprising 22,841,604 adults and 2,841,584 adolescents.
Yesterday, a total of 128,433 doses of vaccines were administered nationwide including 120,092 doses of boosters.
The daily death toll rose to 35 yesterday, bringing the toll to 31,369.
Of the total, six were brought-in-dead cases reported in Perak (two) as well as one each in Kelantan, Negri Sembilan, Sabah and Selangor.
The 35 fatalities reported yesterday were 11 in Selangor, five in Penang, Perak (four), Johor and Kuala Lumpur (three each), Kelantan, Negri Sembilan and Sabah (two each), Kedah, Melaka and Sabah (one each).
Current fatality rate is at 0.9 per cent.
Hospital beds in six states have a utilisation rate above 70 per cent, namely Melaka (78.7 per cent), Kelantan (78 per cent), Terengganu (75.2 per cent), Kedah (73.1 per cent), Johor (71 per cent) and Perak (70.4 per cent).
Nationwide utilisation rate is at 63.8 per cent with a total of 804 daily admissions yesterday.
The intensive care unit (ICU) beds are 55.2 per cent used with 297 active cases; 169 patients are ventilated, ventilator utilisation rate is at 36.4 per cent while 18.2 per cent of the Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centre beds are occupied.
Active cases further reduced to 42,917 after 4,620 more cases recovered from the coronavirus.
As of Monday noon, 2,757 new infections were reported to the Health Ministry, with the national toll now at 2,736,759.
The cases were 565 in Selangor, Johor (361), Kelantan (346), Kedah (273), Penang (197), Pahang (180), Terengganu (172), Kuala Lumpur (135), Sabah (125), Negri Sembilan (92), Melaka (76), Sarawak (21), Perlis (13), Putrajaya (11) and Labuan (one).
Currently, 36,052 Covid-19 patients are observing home quarantine, 3,071 at treatment centres, 3,497 receiving treatment at hospitals and 297 at ICUs.
