No administrative EMCO at Taman Sri Pulai Perdana

JOHOR BARU: The state Health Department has denied a viral message that an administrative enhanced movement control order (EMCO) has been imposed at Taman Sri Pulai Perdana here.

However, its director Datuk Dr Aman Rabu said an internal control action has been taken in the area by the Johor Baru Covid-19 Disaster Management Committee following the discovery of 47 positive cases related to the Pulai Perdana Tiga cluster on Monday.

"Active case detection and investigations found that the houses involved in the cluster are scattered in the housing area. Therefore, an internal control action have been imposed on these houses and related facilities beginning January 10," said Dr Aman in a statement.

He said all positive cases have been isolated and close contacts that have been identified are currently undergoing quarantine at home.

"All common facilities that have the potential to become points of infection like mosques and schools have been identified and temporarily closed for investigations and continuous case detection purposes," said Dr Aman.

He also advised the public to get verified information from official channels and not to spread unverified news and cause concern and confusion among the community.

Yesterday, a message supposedly from the National Security Council regarding the imposition of an administrative EMCO at Taman Sri Pulai Perdana from January 10 to 20 went viral on WhatsApp.
