KUALA LUMPUR: National Unity Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique has called on the rakyat to cherish and appreciate plural society in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration tomorrow.
She said she hoped this year's Thaipusam celebration will strengthen unity among Malaysians.
She said unity and harmony among the community was clearly showcased throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, recent floods and various challenges, including personal problems that were solved by the people together.
She also wished a happy Thaipusam to all Hindus as it is a meaningful celebration to fulfil their vows, ask for forgiveness, repentance and express their gratitude.
"Celebrate Thaipusam safely, follow the set standard operating procedures. Happy Thaipusam to all Hindus of Keluarga Malaysia," she said in a statement today.
