YouTuber proud of home on wheels

KUALA LUMPUR: She's only 19 and Nur Amira Syahira Azizul Abidin has bought a second-hand bus to turn it into a motorhome,

The young YouTuber with 2.68 million followers on her channel bought the 23-seater bus at an auction in January last year, and spent thousands of ringgit to modify it into a mobile home equipped with a bedroom, bathroom and dining area.

Nur Amira said she bought the bus to allow her to move around fast and safe without having to break the bank on accommodation each time she's on the road to look and record stuff for her Facebook and YouTube contents.

"I am always on the move looking for things to upload on my Facebook and YouTube channel. Before having the motorhome, I had to rent a room at hotels or boarding houses which can be costly.

"This was the reason I decided to buy the bus after floating the idea to my family. I engaged a consultant to ensure that the modifications made are up to code and complied with the law," Nur Amira said, adding that she preferred the small bus that she bought at a reasonable price.

In modifying the bus, she said she had to engage consultants too.

"But, the ideas of the layout and the facilities came from me to ensure that they are aesthetically pleasing, look tidy and provide comfort just like living in a house.

"I am thankful that I do not have to fork out a lot of money because the 18-year-old bus still has a good engine and is structurally sound."

Nur Amira said she and her family had used the motorhome to travel to Cameron Highlands, Penang and Port Dickson.

On her future plans, Nur Amira planned to upgrade the engine and improve the interior further.
