MBSJ investigating cause of Lestari Perdana landslip

SERI KEMBANGAN: The landslip which damaged five vehicles at Jalan LP 1a/2, Lestari Perdana in Bandar Putra Permai here is under control.

Selangor Agriculture and Infrastructure executive councillor Izham Hashim said the incident was not serious and Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) was currently investigating the cause of the landslip.

He said MBSJ was also installing metal piles along the banks of the area to prevent soil erosion.

"The metal piles have been installed since last night and we expect to be completed within a week. We want to make sure there is no more ground movement.

"We are currently in the midst of looking for a long term solution. There are waterways in the area and investigations into the cause of the landslip is still underway.

"It is true that this area is risky but the incident is not very serious. However, we are still taking precautions because we do not know the real cause of the incident," he said when met by reporters here today.

On compensating the owners of the five vehicles damaged by landslides, Izham said he would raise the matter to Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari during the executive council meeting later today.

"We will see what kind of donation for those affected. I was told the damaged cars belonged to the customers' of a workshop nearby.

"Alhamdulillah, there are no fatal accidents reported from the incident," he said.
