Authorities install ductile iron piles at Lestari Perdana landslip site

SERI KEMBANGAN: Authorities are installing ductile iron piles along 150 metres of the landslide site in Lestari Perdana, Bandar Putra Permai.

Serdang police chief Assistant Commissioner A.A. Anbalagan said the installation works of the 12-metre iron piles were ongoing to prevent soil movements.

"At the initial stage, iron piles are being used to support the bank from collapsing following yesterday's landslide.

"The installation works have begun at 2am and it is still ongoing," he said when met by reporters at the site today.

Also present was Petaling district officer Datuk Johary Anuar.

Johary said more landslides could possibly occur and based on the Subang Jaya City Council engineering department's surveillance revealed the detection of soil movements.

"After getting the report on the landslide yesterday, we immediately began the mitigation works to prevent landslips by installing the iron piles.

"Based on what we have been told, there is still a risk of soil movement.
