KUALA LUMPUR: Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has tested positive for Covid-19.
His office, in a statement today said Hishammuddin, who has received his Covid-19 booster jab, will be undergoing quarantine as required by the Health Ministry.
"The minister undergoes the Covid-19 RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction) test periodically apart from frequently carrying out the RTK-Antigen (Rapid Test Kit-Antigen) self-test.
"The last time the minister underwent the RT-PCR and tested negative for Covid-19 was on Feb 18 (Friday).
"The minister will continue monitoring and carrying out his duties throughout the quarantine period," the statement said.
