TUMPAT: More than 100 flood victims here received donation from Tengku Mahkota of Kelantan Dr Tengku Muhammad Faiz Petra.

The victims received donations comprising food items and clothes in a simple ceremony held at Masjid Mukim Simpangan Hilir here.

Presenting the aid on behalf of Tengku Mahkota of Kelantan was deputy state police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun.

Apart from Kampung Simpangan villagers, others who received the aid were the mosque's imam Ismail Awang Mat and its committee members.

Ismail thanked the Tengku Mahkota Kelantan for his generosity, saying that the aid was very useful for the flood victims especially those who had suffered a big loss.

"Since flood struck Kelantan last Friday, many of us could not go out to work and had to rely on the food donated by the government and individuals.

"Some of them even lost their clothes and this aid would prove very useful for them," said the 72-year-old when met.

Zaki said the Tengku Mahkota Kelantan is hopeful that the donation would ease the flood victims' burden.

"This is not the first time the Kelantan royal family has provided aid to flood victims.

"This donation will continue not only from the royal family but also from the police as well as non-governmental organisations," he added.
