Four Kelantan reps skip state assembly sitting due to ill health

KOTA BARU: Four state assemblymen did not attend the Kelantan Assembly Sitting held at the Darulnaim complex here today due to ill health.

The elected representatives are Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah (PAS-Panchor), Datuk Mohd Nassurudin Daud (PAS-Meranti), Dr Izani Husin (PAS-Kijang) and Abdul Rahman Yunus (PAS-Pasir Tumboh).

Their absence was announced by Speaker Datuk Abdullah Ya'kub before the opening of the 14th Kelantan Assembly Sitting, today.

Abdullah said he was informed of their absence via letters that were sent to him before the sitting began.

"I would like to confirm here that I have received letters from four Pas assemblymen who stated that they could not attend this sitting due to health problems," he added.

Abdullah, however, did not provide details on their health conditions.

The four were among 45 assemblymen who were supposed to attend the three-day sitting which would end on Wednesday.

"The rest of the 41 assemblymen attended the sitting as usual," he informed.

The Kelantan Assembly Sitting opened this morning with an address by Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V, read out by Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob.
