Two men arrested on suspicion of attacking labourer

KUALA KRAI: Police nabbed two men here on suspicion of attacking and injuring a 39-year-old labourer at Kampung Gajah Mati Slow Temiang here yesterday.

District police chief Superintendent Suzaimi Mohamed said the two, aged 36 and 63, were nabbed by police soon after the incident.

He said the police received a report on the incident at 4.42pm yesterday.

"The report was lodged by a 67-year-old rubber tapper who is the victim's father.

"In the report, the rubber tapper claimed he was informed by his son that he suffered serious injuries after being involved in a fight with two men.

"The victim who suffered injuries on the head and several parts of the body, is now being treated at the Kuala Krai Hospital," he said in a statement.

Suzaimi said police believed the victim was slashed with a sharp weapon during the fight with the two.

"Police, however, is still investigating the cause of the incident," he said, adding that the two suspects were being held for further investigation.
