MACHANG: A 24-year-old motorcyclist died after his bike collided with a trailer here last night in what is believed to be a hit-and-run incident.
The victim was identified as Ahmad Zarriq Ahmad Zulkhairee.
He died on the spot due to serious head and bodily injuries.
Police are now looking for the driver of the trailer.
Kelantan Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Superintendent Shuhaimi Jusoh said the incident happened at about 8.45pm at KM3 Jalan Machang-Pasir Puteh.
"The motorcyclist was returning to his home in Machang after going fishing in Pasir Puteh when the crash occurred.
"Initial investigations showed that the trailer driver, who was travelling in the opposite direction, had lost control of his vehicle causing it to enter the other lane. It collided with the motorcycle," he said in a statement.
Shuhaimi said the body was sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem. Police are appealing for eye-witnesses to help them in the case.
