More than 2,000 Covid-19 cases reported yesterday

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia reported another new 2,021 Covid-19 infections yesterday.

This brings the cumulative count to 4,489,503 with 28,085 active cases throughout the country.

A total 26,980 patients, or 96.1 per cent of the total active Covid-19 cases are undergoing home quarantine, and 18 are being treated at Low Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres (PKRC).

A total 1,048 patients, or 3.7 per cent are hospitalised, while 15 are receiving treatment at intensive care units (ICU) unventilated while 24 others are ventilated.

A total 3,162 patients recovered yesterday.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 has claimed the lives of three more people yesterday.

Two deaths were recorded in Johor and one more in Pahang.

The death toll now stands at 35,641 since the pandemic began two years ago.

A total 70,784,541 Covid-19 vaccines have been administered since immunisation efforts began last year.

To date, 22,972,623 adults aged 18 and above have completed their vaccination with 16,078,909 of them have taken booster shots.

As for adolescents, aged between 12 and 17-years-old, a total 2,909,039 have completed their vaccinations.

For children aged 5 to 11; 1,111,499 have completed their vaccination so far.
