KLANG: Legendary comedian Abdul Hamid Ab Rahman, or Hamid Gurkha as he was more popularly known as, who died earlier today was laid to rest at the Kota Raja Mosque Muslim cemetery in Kampung Jawa, here, at 9.50pm tonight.
Prior to the burial, prayers were conducted at the Kota Raja Mosque.
Apart from family members, also in attendance to pay their last respects were close friends and fellow celebrities. Among them were singer Datuk Nashrudin Elias or Nash and comedian Sulaiman Yassin.
Hamid Gurkha, 89, breathed his last at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, here, at 2.19pm from old age.
He was known for various roles in many comedy films such as Panglima Badol in 1978, Senario The Movie and Zombie Kampung Pisang, among others.-- BERNAMA
