2,127 new Covid-19 cases, one death

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia logged 2,127 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the cumulative total to 4,538,922 cases since the pandemic began.

According to CovidNow and Github data, all of the reported cases were local infections.

Majority of them were in Selangor, with 897 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (482 cases), Penang (153 cases), Perak (137 cases) and Sabah (127 cases).

The rest of the states reported double and single digit cases while no new cases was recorded in Labuan.

The Covid-19 death toll stands at 35,732 with only one death, in Perak, was recorded yesterday.

There are currently 26,362 active cases in the country, after 1,390 recoveries on Friday.

Of the total, 25,350 cases are placed under home quarantine and eight placed at Low Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres.

There were 981 patients being hospitalised, with seven warded in the intensive care units and 16 placed under ventilator support.
