Govt to implement TVET scholarship for students from B40 families [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has agreed to implement the Dermasiswa B40 TVET (B40 TVET Scholarship) programme.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this is to assist students coming from B40 income families to pursue tertiary education in technical vocational education and training (TVET) at public higher education institutions under the Higher Education Ministry.

The government, he said, projected and would set aside RM36.41 million for every intake of students under the programme.

"The first intake (under the programme) will involve 1,000 students.

"I am confident that the programme will provide children of Keluarga Malaysia especially those from B40 household greater access to education and develop their career in TVET. Insya-Allah (God Willing)," said Ismail Sabri in his speech at the launching of the National TVET Week 2022 at Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Polytechnic in Shah Alam near here today
