KUDAT: Police are implementing various measures to tackle cyber fraud or scam activities in Sabah.
State Police Commissioner Datuk Idris Abdullah said the cases commonly involved Macau Scams and non-existent investments.
"Police have made various efforts, including (setting up) an online platform to verify phone numbers and bank accounts of scammers at http://ccid.rmp.gov.my/semakmule.
"This step is taken to make it easier for the community to check for fraudulent information before making any transaction," he said when met at the Community Policing Council in Pulau Banggi here today.
Also present was Sabah Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun.
Idris said the community was also advised to always be careful and not to give personal information to unknown individuals.
"In short, be diligent to take note and read all the revelations made by the authorities related to cyber fraud or scammer."
