ALOR STAR: Nearly 70 homes in Sik, Baling and Padang Terap districts were affected by flash floods following several hours of heavy rainfall since midnight yesterday.
State Civil Defence Force (APM) Disaster Operations chief Saifuddin Abdullah however said, no flood relief centre was activated as the water subsided in the 18 affected settlements by this morning.
Saifuddin said the flash flood hit Baling the hardest, affecting 42 homes located at low-lying areas.
"The affected settlements in Baling are Kg Rambong Batu 7, Kg Carok Juan, Kg Bendang Sera and Siong.
"In the Sik district, 20 homes in eight villages were inundated," he said in a statement.
In Padang Terap district, he said the flash floods affected seven homes in Ladang Sungai Tekai, Naka.
Saifuddin said no flood relief centre was activated in these affected districts as the weather was improving and the flash floods began to recede.
Yesterday, the Meteorological Department had issued a heavy rainfall warning in the three districts between midnight and early morning today.
