Maxis faces network disruptions; users call for compensation instead of 'sorry'

KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis users are reportedly facing issues with mobile data and voice calls since early this morning due to a network disruption.

Maxis has acknowledged the technical issue which affects their voice and data services in "certain areas" nationwide.

According to Maxis, their technical team is "working diligently to resolve" the issue and service is expected to resume within four to six hours.

"We are sorry to inform that we facing technical issue at the moment. We are aware of this and restoration work is still on going. We will try our best to solve this issue soonest. Sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused," the telco provider said on its official Twitter page.

"Our team is working to rectify the issue which tentatively will be resolved within four to six hours if no setbacks. Please accord us your patience on this," it replied to one of the complaints on Twitter.

Maxis further advised users to try to restart their device or turn on/off the airplane mode from time to time.

"Hi @Maxis, any network issues today? Since morning (I am) unable to connect/use my data for internet connections," maxis user, Kausy wrote on Twitter.

"Dear Maxis, please fix your problem immediately and do give a voucher or anything rather than just saying sorry. If we (customers) delay paying your bill even for one day, you directly cut our line," a user wrote.

"Anyone using Maxis? Is there a network problem? I can't make calls or connect to mobile data," another user said.

"Maxis please, not now. Give us early notice (of network disruption) at least," Lokman wrote on Twitter

"Maxis line is down. Anyone looking for me via phone or WhatsApp, please take note. It's not that I don't want to answer your call or text, but the line is out of service," a netizen remarked.
