ALOR GAJAH: Two family members perished in a pre-dawn fire which engulfed their home at Jalan Cherana Puteh, Kampung Cherana Puteh.
The victims have been identified as Allahudin Abdul Hamid, 51 and his 5-year-old son Muhamad Badrol.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said the department's Melaka operations centre rceived an emergency call at 1.56am.
"On arrival, we found the fire had destroyed 70 per cent of the house which measured 20 x 50 square feet and the public informed that there were two victims inside.
"The fire brigade found two victims, a man in the bathroom and his five-year-old son in the master bedroom," he said in a statement this morning.
He said the bodies of the two victims were then handed over to the police.
