TNB on major blackout: Power restored in some parts [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) said power supply was restored between 20 and 40 minutes of the blackout that hit various parts of the Peninsular this afternoon.

However power supply in parts of Klang Valley hit by the outage has yet to be fully restored.

In a statement, it said the outage hit some parts of the Peninsular at 12.39pm involving 2.2GW, which was 10 per cent of the total supply demand.

Among the affected areas were Petaling Jaya, Cheras, Bangi, Bayan Lepas, Seberang Jaya, Panchor and Bandar Indera Mahkota.

"We are still working to identify what caused the outage and efforts are being done to restore supply.

"TNB will inform customers of updates from time to time. We apologise for the inconvenience faced by customers during this power supply disruption."
