Tik Tok account owner dies after allegedly being cyber bullied

PETALING JAYA: A popular TikTok account owner with over 30,000 followers who was found unconscious at her home by family members, died on the way to the hospital.

Subang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Abd Khalid Othman said Police received a call from family members on the victim's condition at 11.51am on Saturday.

"The Subang Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD) control centre received the information from the victim's family.

"While being taken to the hospital, the victim died on the way," he said when contacted by Berita Harian today.

Abd Khalid said the 44-year-old victim lived with her husband and children in USJ 11.

"Police did not find any criminal elements after examining the scene (of the incident) and the body of the deceased. The case has been classified as sudden death (SDR)," he said.

He added that a post-mortem on the deceased has already been carried out at the University of Malaya Medical Center (PPUM).

A news portal had reported that the victim was found dead at her home after allegedly receiving hateful comments on TikTok.

The victim was reportedly 'cyber bullied' on her appearance and handbag collection on social media.

Three days before she died, the victim posted a video in English and Tamil showing that she was starting home schooling for her three daughters using the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) syllabus.
