2,191 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday

KUALA LUMPUR: Daily Covid-19 cases remain on a downward trend with 2,191 infections recorded on Sunday.

Based on CovidNow data, from the fresh cases reported yesterday, only one was imported - recorded in Labuan - while the remaining were local transmissions.

Selangor registered the highest daily cases yesterday at 720, followed by Kuala Lumpur (398) and Sabah (212).

There were 3,796 recoveries yesterday. This further reduced active cases to 32,901.

The Health Ministry also recorded two deaths in Perak.

Hospital admissions remain on a downward trend with 368 cases admitted yesterday.

Currently, 31,527 Covid-19 patients are undergoing home quarantine, 1,282 are being treated at hospitals, 73 under close monitoring at intensive care units (ICU) and 19 are isolated at Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).

Of the ICU cases, 48 are ventilated.

As of yesterday, 21.2 per cent of the Covid-19 beds, 19.6 per cent of the Covid-19 ICU beds and 22.3 per cent of PKRC beds are utilised.
