KUALA LUMPUR: A 19-year-old man died and his pillion rider was injured when their motorcycle crashed into a tree in Bukit Beruntung, Rawang, this morning.
Hulu Selangor police chief Superintendent Suffian Abdullah, said the incident occurred at 5.50am at KM 11 of Jalan Sungai Choh-Bukit Beruntung.
"The man died on the spot.
"The 18-year-old female pillion rider suffered severe injuries and was sent to Selayang Hospital for treatment," he said.
Suffian added that the man's body was brought to the Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital for postmortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
