Construction worker dies in KL building mishap

KUALA LUMPUR: A Bangladeshi construction worker was killed after he was buried under a concrete rubble on the 51st floor of a building under construction in Jalan Ampang early today.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said a team was rushed to the scene after it received a distress call at 12.23am.

Its senior operations commander Nurul Adha Abdul Majid said upon arrival, the team found that concrete on the 51st floor of the building had collapsed, trapping the victim.

"Firefighters had to cut and break the concrete to extricate the victim. The victim was removed from under the rubble at 7.21am today," he said in a statement.

He added that the victim, aged 35, was pronounced dead by a medical team at the scene. — Bernama
