Senior citizen found dead in Donggongon, no foul play say cops

PENAMPANG: A 66-year-old man was found dead with injuries at the back of his head in a drain in Donggongan, here, yesterday.

District police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Haris Ibrahim said members of the public found the unconscious victim at about 7am.

A report was later lodged over the discovery. A police team dispatched to the scene found that the victim had injuries at the back of his head.

"The medical team confirmed that the victim had died. Initial investigation revealed that he had health problems.

"He had no other injuries," said Haris, adding that police did not suspect foul play. The case has been classified as sudden death.

The body was sent to the Forensic Department at the Queen Elizabeth I Hospital for a post-mortem.

"The public is advised not to spread pictures of the victim taken at the scene."
