Kelantan to get 60 new ambulances - Khairy [NSTTV]

KOTA BARU: Kelantan will receive 60 new ambulances worth RM24.3 million soon, Caretaker Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said.

He this was to help the relevant authorities in their effort to reduce emergency waiting times.

He said 40 of the new ambulances would be placed at state health clinics, while another 20 would be stationed at government hospitals.

"These ambulances will be sent to the health facilities in stages, beginning next year," he said during a Press conference after handing over the flood mitigation project at Raja Perempuan Zainab II hospital, here, this morning.

Khairy said the new ambulances would also be sent to three new health clinics in Kelantan, specifically in Machang, Pasir Mas and Tumpat.

"These clinics, costing about RM17.7 million, will start operations next month," he said.

During the ceremony, Khairy also announced that a video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery machine and a unit of echocardiography machine, both worth RM1.69 million, would be presented to the hospital.
