Floating power solar plant about 90 pct complete

PASIR MAS: The floating 100-megawatt power solar plant project in Danau Tok Uban here is expected to supply electricity to 40,000 households in Kelantan beginning next year.

Caretaker Energy and Natural Resources minister Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the project is more than 90 per cent completed and is expected to commence operations in the first quarter of 2023.

"The solar plant will generate adequate green and clean energy, It is supposed to cut down carbon dioxide emissions by 100,000 tonnes annually.

"I am really proud that this project is in Kelantan," he said when visiting the project site here today.

Also present was Cypark Resources Bhd Group's Chief Executive Officer Datuk Daud Ahmad.

The RM450 million project is an investment by two local Bumiputera companies, Cypark Estuary Sdn Bhd and Cove Suria Sdn Bhd while Kelantan Utilities Mubaarakan Holdings Sdn Bhd (KUM) is a co-partner.
