Anwar refuses to use luxury car for work

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim refused to use a Mercedes S600 car provided by the Prime Minister's Department for work yesterday.

In a Facebook posting tonight, Anwar said the luxury car was bought by the department.

"I would like to inform (everyone) that I had refused to use a Mercedes S600 which was bought and acquired by the Prime Minister's Department before I entered office.

"I have taken such a step because I do not want additional expenses to be made for me," he said.

Anwar also said he had decided to use whichever vehicle was available at the office for work.
