KUALA LUMPUR: The full lane of the Ipoh Utara-Ipoh Selatan stretch on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) from KM267.3 to KM280.6 (Southbound) will be temporarily closed on 30 Nov (Wednesday) from 10 am and 2.30 pm for highway emergency simulation exercise.
Plus Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) said Southbound highway users from Kuala Kangsar, Penang and the north are advised to plan their journey following the temporary closure.
"Throughout the closure, southbound highway users from the north/Kuala Kangsar will be diverted to the Ipoh Utara Toll Plaza and advised to use the FT240 Jelapang-Ampang slip road. "
"Highway users heading south are advised to re-enter the NSE via the Ipoh Selatan Toll Plaza", said a statement from the expressway operator.
Plus Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) Chief Operating Officer Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi said the emergency response exercises are being conducted to measure and evaluate the level of preparedness of PLUS personnel and other agencies to ensure the safety of highway users is in good hands.
He also advised highway users to obey all traffic signages and instructions given by PLUS personnel throughout the exercise.
