KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecast heavy rain to hit several areas nationwide from tomorrow until Monday.
MetMalaysia, in a statement, said this is because of the strong easterly winds coming from the western Pacific region.
"Meanwhile, a low-pressure weather system is expected to form over the South China Sea on Dec 2.
"The system is forecast to move west across the Malaysia - Thailand border into the Andaman Sea from Dec 3 until 4 which can also intensify into rain.
"Huge waves and strong winds are also expected to hit the coast and Kelantan and Terengganu waters. This situation is dangerous for any beach and sea activities," it said.
MetMalaysia has also issued a continuous rain warning involving eastern Sabah, the east coast and the northern Peninsula from Dec 1 until 4.
"The people in affected areas are advised to be cautious and prepare to face any possibility.
"MetMalaysia constantly monitors and informs the development of this system from time to time through its website, myCuaca mobile application, and social media accounts.
"MetMalaysia hotline 1-300-22-1638 can be contacted for any further questions."
