KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has completed his audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara this morning.
A Proton Perdana with the prime minister in it was seen exiting through the palace's main gate at 9.15am after a 50-minute audience with the King.
Anwar waved to the almost-40 media personnel who had been waiting at the main gate as early as 7.30 am.
It is believed that Anwar was planning to submit a list of the Cabinet members of the unity government during the meeting.
The car carrying Anwar had entered the main gate of Istana Negara at 8.22am.
The formation of the Cabinet is expected to be announced latest by today to enable the Cabinet members to take their oaths before the weekend as the King is expected to travel overseas on Saturday.
Anwar was reported as saying that the discussion for the formation of the Cabinet is almost complete and the outcome would be announced soon.
Anwar is expected to have an audience with the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah at Istana Kinta at 10am.
He is then scheduled to have a walkabout at the Tanjung Rambutan market, visit the site of the Manjoi health clinic and perform the Friday prayer at the Muhammad Al Fateh Mosque in Taman Jati, Ipoh.
