GE15: No untoward incident reported at Padang Serai, Tioman polls

PUTRAJAYA: Zero untoward incidents were reported at both the Padang Serai parliamentary and Tioman state seat elections for the 15th General Election (GE15) today.

Federal police GE15 operations director Datuk Seri Hazani Ghazali said the police have not received any reports at the two constituencies so far.

"Malaysians are mature enough, the election is ongoing peacefully at the moment.

"We hope the situation remains as it is until the end (of the process)," he said when met by the press at Putrajaya Marine Police Headquarters today.

He received flood supplies aid worth RM490,000 of items including boats from 7-Eleven Malaysia.

Polls for Padang Serai and Tioman seats were postponed to today after the deaths of candidates, namely M. Karupaiya of Pakatan Harapan (PH) for Padang Serai and Perikatan Nasional's (PN) Md Yunus Ramli for Tioman during GE15.

132,955 people will cast their votes in Padang Serai, and 28,108 people in Tioman.

A total of 46 polling centres with 230 voting streams in Padang Serai, and 17 polling centres with 52 voting streams in Tioman open from 8am to 6pm.
