Dr M no longer Pejuang's chairman: Sources

KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has stepped down from Parti Pejuang Tanah Air's (Pejuang) chairman post, sources said.

However, the sources, in a Berita Harian report today said he remained Gerakan Tanah Air's (GTA) chairman.

At Press time, no official announcement has been made on the matter.

It is learnt that Pejuang is expected to hold an Annual General Meeting on Jan 14 next year.

Dr Mahathir lost his Langkawi parliamentary seat to Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah in the recently-concluded 15th General Election.

He obtained only 4,566 votes in a five-cornered fight.

Pejuang lost in all the 125 seats it contested in GE15.
