Terengganu floods worsen as thousands evacuate to flood relief centres [NSTTV]

SETIU: The flood situation in Terengganu is worsening with 11,415 people being moved to temporary flood relief centres (PPS) across the state.

As of 8am today, the victims from 3,326 families have been placed at 174 PPS in seven districts across the state.

It is a huge increase compared to 5,494 people from 1,627 families who had to be placed at 103 PPS last night.

Based on the report from the Terengganu State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, the number of flood victims in Hulu Terengganu also continues to show a rise with 3,998 people from 1,276 families having to be moved to 45 PPS.

This is because there were 2,207 flood victims from 732 families at 34 PPS just last night.

The district of Besut also recorded a rise in the number of flood victims when 3,765 people were placed at 65 PPS in the district.

There are 2,157 flood victims from 632 families seeking shelter at 38 PPS in the district of Setiu compared to 725 from 227 families in 11 PPS last night.

In Kemaman, there are 1,008 victims from 277 families at 12 PPS while in Marang there are 119 victims from 14 families placed at two PPS.

There are no changes in the number of flood victims in the state capital of Kuala Terengganu with 13 victims at one PPS.
