TELUK INTAN: An express bus carrying 21 passengers crashed into a ditch in Jalan Sungai Manik near here this morning
Teluk Intan Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohd Ismail Mohd Yunus said the bus was travelling from Jerteh to Tanjung Malim. Mohd Ismail said all passengers escaped unhurt except for the driver who sustained light injuries.
"The fire brigade received a distress call at 5.24am today. Upon arrival at the scene, it was found that the express bus had crashed after hitting an electric pole on the road shoulder. No victims were trapped and all of them got out of the bus by themselves," Ismail said.
The express bus, he said, was scheduled to drop off passengers here before heading to its final destination in Tanjung Malim.
"The families of the victims who live in Teluk Intan and Tanjung Malim have come to pick up the passengers at the scene of the incident.
"The injured driver received treatment from the Health Ministry facility," he said.
