Tian Chua officially sacked

KUALA LUMPUR: Former PKR vice-president Tian Chua has been officially sacked from the party for contesting in the 15th General Election without the party's consent.

This was confirmed by PKR communications director Lee Chean Chung, when contacted today.

In a brief reply, he told the New Straits Times that the decision was recommended by the PKR disciplinary board and had been approved by the party's central leadership council (Majlis Pimpinan Pusat).

Four other members, Puah Chee Haur from the Parit Buntar branch, Ahmad Tarmizi Mohd Ghazali (Gopeng), M. Mohganan (Taiping) and Nur Khairunisa Abdullah (Sadong Jaya) were also sacked.

Tian Chua stood as an independent candidate at the Batu parliamentary seat in 15th General Election after PKR selected P. Prabakaran as its candidate.

After filing himself as an independent candidate, Tian Chua said he was still a PKR member and was ready to accept any action by the party.

In November last year, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said no action would be taken just yet as the party had decided to temporarily suspend its disciplinary board to focus on GE15.

Puah and Ahmad Tarmizi had represented Warisan to context the Keranju and Chenderiang states seats in Perak, while Mohganan contested the Taping parliamentary seat on an independent ticket and Nur Khairunisa contested in the Sadong Jaya state constituency during the Sarawak State Election under Parti Sarawak Bersatu.
