Man dies after seizure while riding

GUAR CHEMPEDAK: A man died after losing control of the motorcycle he was riding and crashing along Jalan Guar Chempedak-Yan here yesterday (Jan 12) after. He was believed to have had a fit or seizure while riding.

Yan District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Shahnaz Akhtar Haji said that in the incident that took place at about 5.30pm, the 38-year-old victim was confirmed dead on the spot, following serious injuries.

"Initial investigation revealed that the victim was riding a SYM E Bonus 110 motorcycle, believed to be from Yan, heading towards Guar Chempedak.

"As he was riding, it is believed that the victim suddenly had a fit or seizure and lost control of the motorcycle that he was riding. This resulted in him falling hard on the right side of the road.

"The victim died on the spot because of the serious injuries on his head," said Shahnaz when contacted yesterday (Jan 12).

Shahnaz added that the victim's body was sent to Hospital Yan for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and investigations are still ongoing.

"Members of the public who witnessed the accident are urged to come forward and contact the nearest police station to provide information and aid in investigations," he said.
