PM Anwar congratulates former M'sian high commissioner Sudha Devi on reappointment as chair of Commonwelth Foundation

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has congratulated Datuk Sudha Devi K.R. Vasudevan for being reappointed elected for a second term as the chair of the Commonwealth Foundation.

"Her reappointment as the chair of the foundation receuved consensus support from all 56 Commonwealth member nations.

"She is the first Malaysian and representative from Asia to hold the position since the Foundation was established in 1966. Congratulations, Datuk Sudha Devi!"

Sudha Devi, a former Malaysian high commissioner to Australia, was reappointed for another two-year term on Jan 1. She was first elected in 2020.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry had said Sudha Devi, as chair of the foundation, would preside over meetings of its board of governors and represent the foundation at intergovernmental meetings and events.
