KLUANG: Six people including, two children, were killed while five others were injured in an accident involving two vehicles at Batu 13, Jalan Mersing-Kluang here today.
Kluang Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Mohd Shamsul Amri Mohd Shahab said five of the victims, who were travelling in a Perodua Myvi, died on the spot in the 4.40pm incident.
The victims killed at the scene were identified as Muhammad Adil Abdul Kadir, 23; Masrina Kahdar, 21; Muhammad Zharfah Noramin, 16, as well as Muhammad Syakir Noramin and Muhammad Adil Abdul Kadir, both 11.
The other victim, Siti Nurzannah Kahdar, 26, died while being treated at the hospital.
"Three other people who were travelling in the same car sustained injuries.
"One of them was identified as seven-year-old Nur Annalesha Rania Mohammad Arifin," Mohd Shamsul Amri said.
The other person in the same car who sustained injuries during the incident was only identified as a man in his 20s.
Also injured were three people, including a 10-year-old girl, who was travelling in the other vehicle involved in the accident.
Two of them were identified as Zulkeflly Zakariah, 53, and Kamariah Yusoff, 48.
"Those injured during the accident were rushed to the Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital for treatment," he said.
