Man dies after suffering 'medical episode' while driving

KUALA LUMPUR: An ex-special officer to former Batang Kali assemblyman is believed to have died of a heart attack while driving near the Persiaran As Salam traffic lights in Bukit Sentosa early yesterday morning.

Hulu Selangor police chief Superintendent Suffian Abdullah said he received the information about the incident at 5.14am.

"Investigation revealed that the victim worked as a lorry driver and was an ex-special officer to former Batang Kali assemblyman, Datuk Mohd Isa Abu Kassim."

He said the 52-year-old man was found unconscious in a Proton Exora.

"The victim is believed to be on his journey home in Bukit Sentosa Anggerik," he said in a statement today.

Suffian said that the victim was believed to have suffered a heart attack prior to the crash.

"The victim was confirmed dead at the scene by medical officers. His body was taken to the Hospital Kuala Kubu Baru for post mortem," he said.

He said there were no signs of foul play involved and the case was classified as sudden death.
