KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said his administration vows to table the Government Procurement Act as soon as possible.
"The government in 2019 proposed the tabling of the Government Procurement Act in parliament, but it was postponed during the previous administration.
"The unity government plans to table it as soon as possible to improve transparency," he said when tabling the 2023 Budget.
Anwar said the government also pledged to improve the Whistleblower Protection Act 2010 to protect informants to boost the fight against corruption and wrongdoing.
"Some people feel afraid and pressured when they want to provide information on corruption and wrongdoings."
