Salary scheme of civil servants will be priority when nation's revenue rises, says PM [NSTTV]

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has assured that the salary scheme of civil servants will be top of the list when the nation's revenue increases.

"It will be a priority, InsyaAllah.

"But it is impossible (to do it) this month," he said that line in Indonesian language, drawing laughter from 1,650 civil servants from 33 departments during the Prime Minister's Department (JPM) monthly assembly at Dewan De'Seri Endon, Puspanitapuri,today.

Anwar also said he would have some good news on the country's progress, to be announced at the Dewan Rakyat soon.

"Insyallah, on Thursday, when I wind up on behalf of the cabinet, JPM and the Finance Ministry, I will give some positive hints.

"It is in terms of the nation's income and real investments (values)," he said.

Also present at the assembly were deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions) Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.
