MERSING: A woman is reported missing after the car she was travelling in was swept away by flood waters in Jalan Nitar Utama early this morning.
In the 6.50am incident, the 23-year-old victim was believed to be trapped in the vehicle near Felda Nitar 1 and Felda Nitar 2.
Mersing Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Assistant Superintendent Abdul Muiz Mukhtar and a team of members were rushed to the location after receiving information on the incident.
"As soon as we arrived at the location, the operations team failed to find any presence of the victim.
"The team then conducted a search operation. During the incident, the water level on the road was about 1.2m high," he said.
The search operation is currently ongoing.
