Chance to interact with Anwar at youth forum

KUALA LUMPUR: Youths will have the chance to interact directly with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the Youth Empowerment Forum 2023, which is set to be held here on March 18 and 19.

Forum organising chairman Ruzaini Hamzah said at ministers, leaders and industry players will share their plans in their mission to empower youths and the Malaysia Madani movement.

"Apart from giving the prime minister and other government representatives an opportunity to share their plans, the forum is also a platform for youths to give their views, paving the way for a holistic approach in rebuilding the country with youths as the driver of this reform," he said today.

The prime minister will make an appearance in the special "Meet Anwar at YEF 2023" segment on the second day of the event. Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil, Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar and former youth and sports minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman will also participate in the forum.

The forum will also feature youth leader Kamil Munim, the political secretary to the finance minister, and corporate figures like Rinani Group executive director Noor Azri Noor Azerai and Aerodyne Group chief executive officer and founder Kamarul A. Muhamed.

Apart from picking the brains of subject matter experts, youths will also have the chance to interact directly with prospective employers and government agencies at the forum.

Among the topics lined up for discussions are "Gig Economy and Freelancing – A Whole New Future of Work", "Breaking Stigmas – Cultivating TVET Talents with the rise of IR 4.0", and "Empowering Youths Through Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprises".

The forum is presented by Minds 4 Malaysia, with Yayasan Go Strong Malaysia as the main organiser. The foundation has implemented various youth development programmes, especially for those in the B40 group.

The forum, which will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, is open to youths and students of higher learning centres and colleges, as well as those who have completed schooling, graduates and people who just entered the workforce.

Themed "Charting the Future", the forum is a sequel to the Minds for Malaysia 2021 online conference, which aimed to shape a visionary career mindset among the younger generation.-- BERNAMA
